MEMBERSHIP POLICY
To ensure that our club continues to make available Wing Chun
to the highest standards, to maintain a friendly and beneficial learning
environment and to uphold our responsibility to teach only those deemed
suitable for martial arts, membership is by approval and invitation only.
Students must be non-aggressive, respectful, and be able to work in cooperation
with fellow students, demonstrate initiative and self-discipline and show
that they are developing a basic understanding of the principles of Wing
Chun.
These points are observed and assessed during eight sessions of introductory
training. During this time you will get
to experience our club ethos, training environment, teaching methods and
observe seniors training. You will learn the basic principles and concepts
of Wing Chun, a solo form and some partner drills. The introductory period also gives you time
to decide if our club and Wing Chun is what you are looking for before committing yourself.
After the introductory period, we will have observed your ability to understand
and perform the fundamental aspects of Wing Chun that you will have been practising and
your attitude to training. Those who are approved will be invited to
become full members and ambassadors to East Berkshire Wing Chun Kuen.
